Girls Leadership Club

Club Sponsor and Leader: Ms. Black, School Counselor

The Girls Leadership Club is open to 7th and 8th grade girls by application only.  Applications are available in the School Counseling office.  Student participants need to maintain at least “C” average grades or better.

This leadership group focuses on nurturing responsibility and building self-esteem through group activities, field trips and performing community service.   True leadership is learned when we humble ourselves in service of others.

End-of-Year Governor’s Award for Community Service:  Leadership students who complete 40 or more hours of community service by the end of the school year will be awarded a framed certificate of recognition from the State of Michigan.  It will be signed by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Michigan.  This is a very special honor.

Participation and recognition in this leadership club also benefits students applying for high school middle college programs at Baker, Mott and U of M-Flint.  Demonstrating good citizenship in middle school teaches students the leadership skills they will need to be successful in high school, college and beyond.
